Sunday Morning Adult Sunday School

The Believers Class
This class seems to be geared for those just approaching the senior moments of our life, was founded on concept from Book of Acts, where believers are to “continually devote themselves to the apostles' (Biblical) teaching, and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. The class takes each verse and thoroughly studies it as the Holy Spirit leads us to the fullness of its meaning for our lives. The Believers class may be just the place to spend an additional God-filled hour each Sunday morning.  The class is currently in the book of Isaiah.
Facilitator: Pat Griffith
Meets Holley Building, room 6

The Berean Class
This mixed group of singles and couples are both young and old. This is a discussion class where one finds new and different ways that God's teachings relate to our lives. The Bereans were people in the Bible who loved the Lord and examined the Scriptures to see what God was really saying.  Studies include season resources for Advent, Christmas, Lent and Easter and has used many of James W. Moore books.
Facilitator: Paul Guilbeau and Dale White
Meets Pre-school Building, room 9

Daily Living Class
This is a mixed class with singles, married, widowed, with a great mix from early 30's to 80+. This very casual class is a great “first step” for those who have never tried SS, because the class format is very open and loose. This group does study the Bible to see how the teachings of the Bible apply to our “daily lives.” The class is currently studying John Wesley's "3 Simple Rules for Christian Living"  and will end on Sept. 6.
Facilitator: John Hines
Meets Holley Building, room 4

The Fellowship Class
Warm, friendly and smiling faces welcome you to this class, comprised mainly of “card carrying” AARP members. The name of the class “Fellowship” represents the nature of the loving, caring, and reaching out to others in the love of Jesus. They use the Cokesbury Adult Bible Studies in a lively discussion format. This class exemplifies the Methodist' oath of supporting the church with prayers, service, gifts and presence. Come find out what all this group offers.
Facilitator: Marie Smith
Meets Holley Building, room 3

The Searchers Women Class
This class of women on the 50+ side of life enjoy fellowship with other women. They try to get together for lunch as often as possible, and support several different outreach projects with their prayers and their money. This class studies the Bible, book by book, chapter by chapter, and verse by verse using the “Serendipity” Bible resources.  In this group, there is a deep sense of sisterhood in Christ and also lots of laughter!
Facilitator: Kathy Hoover & Ardella Richeson
Meets Holley Building, room 2

The Seekers Class (formerly known as the Spiritual Gifts class):
This is a very diverse class with both couples and singles ranging in age from 40-80. They don't rush pass the sharing of prayer concerns and weekly events of their lives. Free flowing discussion and questions and opinions are encouraged as they try to apply God's word to our lives. The whole purpose of their study is to be better ambassadors of the Lord here on earth. Current topics are often addressed.
Facilitator: Strand Martin
Meets Pre-school Building, room 10

The Wesleyan Class
This class utilizes the International Lesson Series with the focus on how the Scriptures apply to our personal, interpersonal and religious lives. We do this by studying the weekly lesson, prayerfully considering how the lesson relates to current times, and sharing our personal insight and experiences while reviewing current events from the context of the lesson. This is the class that brings us the “Pretzel” sales that benefit projects around the church. There is always room for more people.
Facilitator: Gene Blevins
Meets Holley Building, room 7
